The history of Eton Technical Institute began in 1962 with Bremerton Business College when it was acquired by George C. and Lois Aloha Bates, who owned and operated the school until their retirement in 1985.
In 1985, Mr. Joseph W. Edmonds acquired Bremerton Business College and took the trade name (doing business as) Eton Business College. In July of 1985, Eton Business College opened a campus in Seattle. The following June 1986, Puget Sound Institute of Technology was acquired with extensions in Everett, Federal Way, and Seattle.
Soon after, in 1986, the main campus of Eton moved to new facilities in Port Orchard where the school spent its first 64 years. In July 1986, Travel Central was purchased. In September 1986, the second campus opened in Federal Way. In May 1987, the third campus opened in Everett. The name of the College was later changed to Eton Technical Institute in 1987.
Eton Technical Institute was then purchased by Career Choices, Inc. in late 1999, and became Eton Educational, Inc. doing business as (DBA) Eton Technical Institute.
In 2000, Eton's Everett campus moved to its spacious facility in the Everett Mall Office Park. Eton Technical Institute opened its fourth campus in Tacoma in 2003.
Corinthian Schools, Inc. (CSi) acquired the schools in 2003. Corinthian Schools, Inc. is a division of Corinthian Colleges, lnc. (CCi). Corinthian Colleges, Inc. is one of the largest postsecondary school organizations in the United States, operating more than 80 colleges and institutions across the country.

Dental Assisting

Would you like to become an integral member of a dental health team?
Dental Assistants are educated to perform chairside assisting methods,
patient procedures, and related office and laboratory tasks under the
direction and supervision of a licensed dentist.
The variety of tasks you learn will allow you to be challenged by
diverse responsibilities in the delivery of dental care. You will gain
knowledge of the basic dental sciences, proficiency in laboratory and
clinical skills, and practical experience involving specialized skills.
You will obtain hands-on experience in a laboratory setting using major
equipment such as amalgamators, dental units and chairs, model
trimmers, oral evacuation equipment, oxygen tanks, personal computers,
ultrasonic units, and X-ray units.
Duties of a Dental Assistant may include: assisting a dentist
at chair side with basic dental procedures; preparing materials for use
by the dentist; cleaning and sterilizing dental instruments; providing
education to patients about good dental health; and performing
preventive procedures.
You will be trained in valuable clinical, radiographic, and
administrative procedures, leading to career opportunities with dental
offices, dental supply manufacturers, hospital dental departments, and
insurance companies. Additional entry-level positions include dental
receptionists, dental insurance clerks, dental supply salespeople, and
administrative assistants.
Medical Assisting

Have you dreamed of starting a career in the medical field, but weren´t sure where to begin? Consider the role of Medical Assistant, which in recent years has become an integral part of the healthcare arena. Medical Assistants are trained in both administrative and clinical procedures, and are capable of filling a variety of rewarding positions.
Our training program is divided into learning units called modules. You must complete the modules in their entirety, in any sequence, to successfully complete this curriculum.
The learning modules of the Medical Assisting program encompass lecture, theory and laboratory work in the following areas:
- Patient care and communication
- Clinical assisting and pharmacology
- Medical insurance, bookkeeping and health sciences
- Cardiopulmonary and electrocardiography
- Laboratory procedures
- Endocrinology and reproduction
- Therapeutic care
Upon successful completion of the modules, you are required to participate in a 160-hour externship. This program provides you with the opportunity to interact with patients and apply the principles and practices learned in the classroom.
You will be prepared to maintain the highest quality of patient care; take vital signs, run laboratory and diagnostic tests, all while utilizing your organization, communication and management skills. Gain employment in a hospital, clinic, doctor´s office, nursing home, medical supply business, home healthcare agency, insurance company or pharmaceutical company.
Medical Billing

Medical insurance billing is one of the fastest growing opportunities in the healthcare industry. Give yourself an advantage as more and more insurance companies, medical offices and clinics look to hire well-schooled and experienced professionals.
The program encompasses several all-inclusive courses to prepare students for employment as Medical Insurance Billers.
The curriculum includes instruction on the following:
1. You will be introduced to the general responsibilities of the insurance specialist including:
- Legal issues
- Front office
- Customer service
- Health insurance claim form
- Medical Law & Ethics
2. You will learn all aspects of private insurance plans including:
- Blue Cross/Blue Shield
- Medicare and related programs
3. You will obtain instruction on electronic billing in the following areas:
- TRICARE/CHAMPVA insurance programs
- Managed care, including HMO, PPO, POS, and related forms
- Dental billing
- ICD-9 Coding
- CPT Coding
Gain knowledge of the basic concepts and procedures to perform the tasks involved in health insurance as well as insurance claim forms.
Pharmacy Technician

Get involved in an exploding industry! The pharmaceutical industry is
expected to surge over the next decade due to the increased needs of a
larger and older population. You can join the ranks of thousands of
others and start aiding licensed pharmacists providing medication and
other healthcare products to patients.
Our program provides you with strong academic and clinical backgrounds in the areas of:
- Pharmacy administration
- Pharmaceutical calculations
- Anatomy and physiology
- Digestive, respiratory and reproductive systems
- Nutrition
- Medical terminology
- Pharmacology
- Health care systems
The program helps develop strong customer service, communication
and interpersonal skills needed to interact with patients, co-workers
and healthcare professionals. Strong mathematical and organizational
skills needed to manage inventories, count and measure medication, and
use computers are provided.
Pharmacy Technicians can gain positions in both healthcare facilities
and retail establishments including: hospitals, medical centers,
outpatient clinics, urgent care centers, and pharmacies.
